Constrained by Costs, This is Confidence The father of Debora's baby who died was rejected by the hospital
Henny Silalahi and her husband Rudianto Simanjorang can only remember their baby, Tiara Debora, who died on Sunday (3/9/2017).
Met at their home on Jalan H Jaung, Benda, Tangerang, Henny and Rudianto told how they regretted entrusting Debora's life to the Mitraider Kalideres Hospital.
"Actually my baby has a cold all week, then three days before dying, coughing," said Henny

Henny took Debora to Cengkareng Regional Hospital for an examination. The doctor there then gave him medicine and a nebulizer to treat Debora's cold.
Then, on Saturday night, Deborah was sweating continuously. Henny, who had not slept until Sunday, continued to change Debora's sleeping pad.
Until 3:00 in the morning, Henny, who changed Debora's sleeping mat, panicked when she saw that the little baby was short of breath. Without thinking, Henny immediately woke her husband.
Her husband immediately started the motorbike, even Henny did not have time to wear sandals. They came to the nearest hospital from their home, the Kalideres Mitra Mitra Hospital.
"My goal is just to save my child, the closest is the Family Partner," said Henny. When he got there, security officers immediately helped Henny bring Debora to the emergency room (IGD).
The attending physician at the time, Irene Arthadinanty Indrajaya, immediately did the first aid by suctioning.
Debora was installed with various kinds of monitoring equipment, infusions, steam, and given drugs. At that time, at 3:30, Debora was breathing and crying loudly.
"I thought I was cured, then I was called by doctor Irene, she said that she had to enter the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) because it was already four months old, but she said that she did not accept BPJS," said Henny.
Rudianto and Henny immediately took care of the administration so that their children were treated in the PICU room.
Rudianto said, he faced the administration and was offered a kind of price list. The advance payment for the service is Rp. 19,800,000.
"I said I didn't bring any money at all, only took the key with the money in my pants pocket to sleep, but they said they had to pay DP (down payment)," said Rudianto.
He stepped on the gas to the house to take his wallet. Rudianto then immediately withdrew all the money at his ATM and disbursed around Rp. 5 million.
The money was taken to the administration and counted by officers at that time. Because it was not enough, the administrative officer at that time took money and contacted his supervisor.
Rudianto did not know about the administration's discussion. He was then called again and the money was returned. The clerk said that because of lack of money, his son could not enter PICU.
"There I begged very much, I said later in the afternoon I will pay the shortfall, I have a brother, he can work on it. The officers only say it can't, this is a policy from management," said Rudianto.
Finally, by doctors, Rudianto and Henny were made referral letters to other hospitals that had PICUs and received BPJS Health. He called all the hospitals, starting from Hermina, Siloam, RSCM, Harapan Kita, Awal Bros, but none of the PICU rooms were empty.
Henny also uploaded the status on Facebook and contacted her friends to ask for a hospital search. He also contacted his supervisor to borrow money so that his son could be put into the PICU Kalideres Mitra Keluarga Hospital.
"I went to the doctor again, the doctor changed the doctor Irfan, I said I have found nothing empty, I said I work, have money, I'll pay in the afternoon, while waiting for my child to get a hospital, why not treated at PICU with Rp. 5 million, I have begged, "said Henny.
Doctors, nurses, and administrative officers still refused and demanded the money to be paid in the amount of Rp 11 million. Henny said that the doctor at that time had mentioned that the price of treatment in the PICU room last night reached Rp. 20 million.
At around 09:00, Henny was contacted by a friend who reported that there was a PICU room available at Koja Hospital.
Without thinking, Henny connected the pediatrician at Koja Hospital with Dr. Irfan. Doctor Irfan said on the telephone that Debora was in a stable condition, the oxygen troops were smooth, and worthy of transportation.
However, the phone suddenly stopped when the nurse who was guarding Deborah came in a panicked face. The telephone connection was disconnected and doctor Irfan immediately handled Debora.
"My feeling there was not good, five minutes, I was called in, I saw my child was pale, his eyes were up," said Henny.
Debora's condition is critical. Doctors and nurses take turns to restore it (CPR). The doctor said Debora was still breathing, but her heart stopped.
The heart monitor shows a straight line with no winding. Henny and her husband could only hold the poor boy's hand. He cried and asked Deborah to hold on.
"Dek, don't go, help you hold on, don't give up," said Henny. Deborah never showed signs of life.
The doctors and nurses gave up. They immediately left Deborah. Sister only said they were sorry. Henny and her husband could only weep over Debora's departure while seeing one by one the equipment removed from the body of the tiny baby.
Henny spoke to the nurse. He asked why his child died. He only received an explanation that his child should be treated in the PICU room.
Without saying much, Rudianto and Henny took care of hospital administration and death certificates. He paid Rp 6 million more for treatment in the emergency room. He also asked for a death certificate that did not explain what caused Deborah's death.
"I said, this I have an obligation I still pay, I did not run even though my child was dead," said Henny.
He then brought his son home and buried his fifth child forever. Henny's story was viral on social media. Henny claimed not to expect anything, other than hoping that there were no other Deboras out there.
"I want to be angry, I want to mess up the threat of the hospital, but I still have my children," he said.
